The Songs

My new CD is dedicated to my children who are all grown up and now producing children of their own.  It is also dedicated to the daughter we lost to breast cancer.  I am always willing to help cancer research or awareness if I can.

cover1-s-copy1. FULL MOON OVER BOYSTOWN TONIGHT
Ok, Boystown is the red-light district in a lot of the border towns with Mexico.  This is the true story of a Texas born fool, read friend who should have known better.

2. THREE TIME LOSER
You probably know these characters, they can be found in most inner cities though it seems epidemic here in south Texas.

3. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE
Young veterans from so many conflicts over seas having the same problem of readjusting to a ‘normal’ life after coming home, or is that just an excuse?

4. CHRISTMAS IN THE BARRIO
Everyone’s always told me that I  should write a Christmas song because of the annual royalties that those type of songs get.  Well living on the edge of the ‘Barrio’ in CC, here is my take on Christmas in south Texas.  Intended for amusement only!

5. MY KINDA RED NECK GIRL
I guess the title sums this one up perfectly and probably accounts for all my problems in life and failed marriages.  LOL.

6. HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL
A tongue in cheek song about a really serious problem that seems to be coming almost socially acceptable everywhere.

7. BEFORE I CRY
Corpus Christi proclaims itself as the sparkling city by the sea.  There have been times when it hasn’t sparkled for  me.

8. NASHVILLE AIN’T NO FUN
Texas music fans  always talk about the cookie cutter country music coming from Nashville these days, and I couldn’t agree more, but unfortunately it’s happening right here in our own back yard as well.

9. HILL COUNTRY BOUND
My final  destination, where I long to be when the weather becomes too hot and humid on the coast.  My escape from the ‘sparkling city’.

10. TRAVELLIN’ LIGHT
After my mom died I had  the undesirable task of clearing out the family home.  Many hours of sorting through boxes of memorabilia  and old photos I reflected on my own life and this song kinda wrote itself.

11. NEW CUT ROAD
They call it  progress but it doesn’t help everyone.  We have way to many chemical plants and refineries spewing unknown toxins unchecked into our atmosphere on the south coast as with everywhere else.

Thank you for playing my music and I hope you enjoy my CD.
